His distinguished career includes key leadership roles such as Chief Operating Officer at Supernal (Hyundai’s advanced air mobility division), Deputy Administrator at the FAA, and Senior Vice President for Alliances, International & Regulatory Affairs at United Airlines.
Commenting on the appointment, Rahul Bhatia, Managing Director of IndiGo, said, “Mike’s deep and varied industry and government experience will contribute significantly to having an effective and diverse Board. His focus on efficiency, operations, and air safety will reinforce IndiGo’s longstanding commitment to excellence.”

A qualified private pilot, Mr. Whitaker holds a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center and a BA in Political Science from the University of Louisville.
