The new Governing Board assumes office at a significant juncture for India’s MICE industry, as the country continues to expand its convention infrastructure, enhance international connectivity and strengthen its capabilities to host large-scale global conferences, exhibitions and corporate events.
The Board will focus on reinforcing ICPB’s role as a catalyst for the growth of India’s business events ecosystem through greater industry collaboration, international engagement, destination promotion, capacity building and closer coordination with government bodies and key stakeholders.
Commenting on his election, Amaresh Tiwari, Vice Chairman, ICPB, said, “I am deeply grateful to the members of ICPB for reposing their trust and confidence in me. India is at a defining moment in its journey to emerge as a leading global MICE destination. With world-class convention infrastructure, improving connectivity and growing international interest, we have an unprecedented opportunity to position India among the world’s most competitive business events destinations. Our focus will be on strengthening government-industry collaboration, enhancing India’s visibility in international markets, promoting emerging MICE destinations and creating greater business opportunities for our members. Together with the newly elected Governing Board, we are committed to taking ICPB’s vision forward and ensuring that India secures its rightful place on the global MICE map.”
Further to this Mr. Sudeep Sarcar, Secretary, ICPB added “I am grateful for the trust placed in me as Honorary Secretary of ICPB. My priority is to work closely with our members to strengthen India’s position as a leading global MICE destination. This requires closer collaboration among government, convention and exhibition organisers, venues, hotels and service providers. We must support one another in attracting international events and delivering experiences that bring organisers and delegates back to India. I would like ICPB to offer more opportunities for members to connect, share knowledge and develop business. I look forward to working with the newly elected team to strengthen our industry and help ICPB grow through the active participation of its members.”
Mr. Ashish Jagota, Treasurer, ICPB, added “Sound financial governance today, global leadership tomorrow. My vision is an ICPB that is transparent, sustainable and taking India’s convention story to every corner of the world.”
The new leadership will also work towards broadening industry participation, encouraging knowledge sharing and professional development, and building stronger partnerships with international associations and convention organisers to attract prestigious global meetings and events to India.
With a renewed mandate and a shared vision, ICPB remains committed to advancing India’s position as a preferred international MICE destination while contributing to the sustainable growth of the country’s tourism and hospitality sectors.
