The 76th Republic Day parade on Kartavya Path in New Delhi will feature stunning tableaus from Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, highlighting their rich heritage and modern progress. These tableaus beautifully blend cultural traditions with contemporary advancements, showcasing India’s journey towards development.
Gujarat Tableau: A Confluence of Heritage and Growth
The Gujarat tableau, themed “Swarnim Bharat: Virasat Ane Vikas” (Golden India: Heritage and Development), highlights the state’s remarkable journey from the 12th-century Solanki-era ‘Kirti Toran’ in Vadnagar (Anartpur) to the modern marvel of the 21st century, the ‘Statue of Unity.’
At the front of the tableau, the ancient ‘Kirti Toran,’ a UNESCO World Heritage Site, symbolizes Gujarat’s rich history. Surrounding it are intricate artworks, including Kutchhi clay-glazed designs and Pithora paintings that celebrate tribal culture. The tableau also showcases Gujarat’s cutting-edge advancements, such as the C-295 aircraft manufacturing unit in Vadodara, part of the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, and the engineering marvel ‘Atal Bridge,’ which connects the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad.
The rear of the tableau features the iconic ‘Statue of Unity,’ the world’s tallest statue at 182 meters, honoring Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Alongside it are depictions of Gujarat’s upcoming underwater sports initiatives at Dwarka and Shivrajpur Beach. Vibrant Maniyara Raas dance performances, accompanied by traditional and modern Duha music, further enhance the tableau’s appeal.
Uttar Pradesh Tableau: Mahakumbh – A Spiritual and Digital Marvel
Uttar Pradesh’s tableau celebrates the upcoming Mahakumbh 2025 in Prayagraj, the world’s largest gathering of humanity. The theme, “Mahakumbh 2025: Golden India—Heritage and Development,” reflects the spiritual, cultural, and technological dimensions of this grand event.
The tableau’s centerpiece is the ‘Amrit Kalash,’ symbolizing the divine nectar, surrounded by saints and devotees performing rituals at the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers. LED screens display visuals of Akharas, royal baths, and scenes of spirituality.
A highlight of the tableau is the depiction of the mythological Samudra Manthan (churning of the ocean), showcasing the 14 divine treasures (ratnas) like Kamdhenu, Kalpavriksha, and Amrit. The tableau also emphasizes modern management and security measures for Mahakumbh 2025, featuring the high-tech Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) for crowd management.
A Celebration of India’s Diversity and Progress
Both tableaus beautifully combine heritage and development, highlighting India’s cultural richness and its strides toward progress. This year’s Republic Day parade will feature 30 tableaus from various states and government departments. The President of Indonesia, Mr. Prabowo Subianto, will attend as the chief guest, making the event even more special.
Gujarat’s tableau is being guided by officials from the state’s Information Department, while Uttar Pradesh’s tableau showcases the vision of the Yogi Adityanath government, underlining the spirit of “Golden India.” Together, these displays promise to inspire pride and unity among all citizens.
