Over the past month, the city served as a global stage for sport, culture and community, welcoming visitors from around the world while highlighting Los Angeles’ iconic neighborhoods, diverse communities, and world-class hospitality. From the eight matches at Los Angeles Stadium and the FIFA Fan Festival™ at the Historic Memorial Coliseum to ten additional Official Fan Zones, youth clinics and more than three hundred community events across the region, the tournament delivered a once-in-a-generation moment.

FIFA World Cup 2026™ by the Numbers
- 560,000+ fans attended eight FIFA World Cup 2026™ matches at Los Angeles Stadium. • The FIFA Fan Festival™ and Official Los Angeles World Cup 26 Fan Zones welcomed 250,000+ fans.
- 300+ community events brought residents and visitors together across the region. • LA Metro’s Games Enhanced Bus Service provided 200,000+ rides to the stadium during the tournament, while recently extended Metro services kept visitors connected throughout the region.
- Hosting the tournament resulted in a projected $892 million in economic impact across Los Angeles County, while creating a lasting tourism legacy projected to exceed $1 billion in long-term economic benefits.
The tournament generated significant economic activity, supporting local businesses, inspiring future athletes, and investing in nonprofit organizations serving communities throughout Los Angeles. Its success reflected a collaborative effort among public agencies, venue operators,
community organizations, volunteers, Host City Supporters, and local businesses throughout Los Angeles.

The Global Sports Spotlight Continues
The final whistle of FIFA World Cup 2026™ is far from the end of Los Angeles’ moment on the world stage. In February 2027, the city will host Super Bowl LXI, continuing a remarkable era of global sporting events and giving fans yet another opportunity to experience SOFI Stadium and Los Angeles and at its most vibrant.
Beyond the Super Bowl, all eyes will turn to Los Angeles as it prepares to host the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. From July 14-30, 2028, and August 15-27, 2028, Los Angeles will welcome the world for the Olympic Games for the third time, and Paralympic Games for the first. With more than 50 Olympic and Paralympic sports and over eight hundred events, LA28 will transform the region into a global celebration of sport, culture and community while showcasing the city’s iconic venues, neighborhoods and attractions.
Why LA28 Will Be Uniquely Los Angeles:
- A 100% existing or temporary venue plan, utilizing world-class existing facilities located throughout the region. This makes LA28 the first Summer Olympics to not build any new permanent infrastructure since London hosted in 1948.
- There are 51 sports in LA28’s Olympic sport program, including the five new or returning sports of flag football, baseball/softball, lacrosse, squash and cricket.
- A “car-free” Olympics model utilizing significant transportation improvements, including LA Metro expansions and the LAX Skylink (Automated People Mover).
- The 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Ceremonies will be shared between the LA Memorial Coliseum and the 2028 Stadium, spotlighting Los Angeles’ unique blend of history and innovation.
