Brigade Hospitality celebrated International Day of the Girl Child on 10th October. Around 40 underprivileged girls from various 13 different government schools through World Vision India were invited for a visit to the Indian Music Experience (IME), the first interactive music museum of India. The idea was to give these girls a very unique experience, Brigade Hospitality believes that experiences are what add to an individuals’ personality. In building this, learning through different engaging activities is so important and IME turned out to be an apt platform to imbibe the knowledge of world music of different eras and get hands on experience of world-class musical instruments from around the world. The girls and their coordinators had a guided tour of IME by the volunteers there, which was followed by a very special lunch being hosted at the Augusta Club.
IME was chosen because of its uniqueness and what it offers, which could stay with them for times to come. It was truly a fascinating experience that every single girl and person part of this event, left feeling more alive, energised and inspired. That’s what music does and all the participating girls were treated with an array of musical notes, trivia, instruments that enabled them to discover a new world. Brigade Hospitality wanted to celebrate each girl child in the best way possible, which was made possible through this event. The rich culture and diversity of Indian music is so beautifully conceptualized that it caters to all age groups, young and old, where everybody was left wanting more.
On the occasion, Mr. Vineet Verma, Executive Director and CEO, Brigade Hospitality Services Limited said, ‘’Experiences make us think, analyse, imbibe and grow. This is an important aspect for us in our own little efforts in empowering girls. In our association with World Vision India we are trying to inspire and motivate a generation of girls who grow up with a drive & vision to follow their dreams and leave an imprint in their chosen paths. The gifts of hope are towards education, health, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene. Our cause is to uplift, build and empower GIRLS.”
At Brigade Hospitality we are sensitive to our role in the society and the various social causes. This brought about the initiative called, “Giving Back to Society”, in short GBS. We have taken up 3 causes under this head. The ‘Cause of the Girl Child’, ‘Creating a livelihood for the differently abled’ and ‘Being Environment-friendly’. For ‘Cause of the Girl Child’, we chose to partner with World Vision India and have had many interactions with girl children. The gifts of hope are towards education, health, nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene. Our cause is to uplift, build and empower GIRLS. We have signed an MoU to contribute funds that are collected every quarter. It is our aim to help create a positive change in the lives of the children.
