#First Opinion
“India has 1,640 aircraft on order, more than any other country, reflecting the enormous demand for air connectivity. We recognise that certain routes, particularly to tourist destinations, need better connections, and the Government is continuously engaging with airlines and the tourism industry to facilitate this. Globally, aircraft supply has been affected by post-COVID supply-chain disruptions, creating a shortage. India is now going a step further under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, pursuing aircraft manufacturing domestically. We are adding around 9–12 aircraft every month, or 100–120 annually, strengthening connectivity across the country. Our commitment, our vision, and our challenge, our task is that we need to create 100 more airports in the coming 10 years.”
