
Taiwan unveils Reward Campaigns to boost repeat tourism
Taiwan Tourism Administration has rolled out two new visitor reward initiatives to strengthen its appeal among global travellers and transit passengers. The ‘Taiwan the Lucky Land – Thank You Season’ offers returning visitors monthly prize draws featuring business-class tickets, luxury hotel stays and NT$5,000 gift vouchers, running until January 30, 2026. The ‘Enter Taiwan, Enjoy a Gift!’ campaign provides NT$600 airport vouchers to transit passengers stopping at Taoyuan Airport for up to 24 hours.
VFS Global intensifies fight against Visa Fraud Worldwide
VFS Global has strengthened its anti-fraud efforts by amplifying its #DoNotFallForFraud campaign through employee-led social media advisories and the removal of over 700 fake pages misusing its brand name. Now in its eighth year, the initiative has generated over 30 million views globally, including 10 million impressions in 2025 alone. Featuring multilingual video advisories, the campaign educates visa applicants on safe appointment booking, identifying fake guarantees, avoiding unauthorised payments etc.
Jamaica launches $1 bn relief fund for hurricane-affected tourism workers
Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Hon. Edmund Bartlett, has announced the creation of a $1 billion relief fund to support tourism workers impacted by Hurricane Melissa. The fund combines $600 million from the government with $400 million from the private sector, aimed at housing rehabilitation and recovery efforts. The announcement came during a tourism recovery tour of Ocho Rios, highlighting phased reopening of hotels and attractions.
Udaipur Tales Festival returns with 7th Edition in January 2026
The Udaipur Tales International Storytelling Festival is set to return for its 7th edition from January 9 to 11, 2026, celebrating the art of oral storytelling in its purest form. Founded by Sushmita Singha and Salil Bhandari, the three-day festival will host intimate sessions for 350–400 attendees, featuring national and international storytellers. The programme includes live storytelling, folk and music performances, recognition of master storytellers etc.
