Hyderabad hosts India’s first conference on Weekend Tourism Economy
India’s first conference on “Building the Weekend Tourism Economy” was held in Hyderabad, positioning the city as the country’s emerging Weekend Capital. Organised by FTCCI and Telangana Tourism, the event highlighted Telangana’s strong weekend-travel potential fuelled by a 2.5 million IT and Life Sciences workforce. Speakers emphasised tourism as a lifestyle, with ₹15,000 crore invested in 31 projects under the new tourism policy.
IndiGo launches operations from new Navi Mumbai International Airport
IndiGo has announced the start of flight operations from the newly launched Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) beginning 25 December 2025. The airline will connect NMIA to ten major domestic destinations including Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Cochin. As Mumbai’s second airport, NMIA is designed to ease congestion and boost western India’s connectivity.
KBF unveils ‘Edam’ exhibition featuring 36 Kerala artists
The Kochi Biennale Foundation has announced the artist lineup for ‘Edam’, an exhibition showcasing the creative diversity of Kerala. Opening on December 13 alongside the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, the exhibition is curated by Aishwarya Suresh and K M Madhusudhanan and will feature 36 artists across multiple venues in Mattancherry. KBF leaders described ‘Edam’ as a platform celebrating Kerala’s cultural depth and contemporary artistic voices.
