India introduces E-Group Visa to boost Cruise Tourism
The Government of India has introduced a Group Visitor Visa (Cruise) under its expanded e-Visa regime, simplifying entry for foreign tourists travelling on cruise ships. The move is expected to strengthen India’s cruise tourism potential and make port calls more seamless for international visitors. India’s e-Visa facility is currently available to nationals of 172 countries, with nearly 95 per cent of applications processed within 72 hours.
IndiGo to launch Guwahati–Bangkok flights
IndiGo will launch non-stop flights between Guwahati and Bangkok from October 27, 2026, marking its first international operations from Guwahati. The twice-weekly service will operate on Wednesdays and Saturdays from October 31, subject to regulatory approvals. The new route is expected to strengthen Northeast India’s connectivity with Southeast Asia while supporting leisure and business travel, tourism, trade and cultural exchange between India and Thailand, further boosting Guwahati’s international gateway role.
