
Atlys issues apology after industry backlash over social media reel
Digital visa platform Atlys issued an apology after a social media reel sparked strong backlash from the travel trade. Major associations, including TAAI, OTOAI and TAAP, along with leading travel agents and tour operators, reacted sharply, stating the reel made blanket and unsubstantiated allegations portraying the entire agent community as unethical and exploitative. The widespread furore across the industry forced Atlys to take down the post and issue a public apology.
Holiday Inn Express appoints Priyanka Ahluwalia as Cluster General Manager
SAMHI has appointed hospitality leader Priyanka Ahluwalia as Cluster General Manager for its Holiday Inn Express portfolio, effective January 2026. She will oversee operations across 12 HIEX hotels in India. With over 25 years of experience across hotels, tourism boards and resorts, Ahluwalia previously spent 12 years with The LaLiT Suri Hospitality Group, managing sales and operations for hotels in India and the UK. SAMHI said her leadership will strengthen service delivery and guest experience.
