Jamaica Tourism reopens strongly after Hurricane Melissa
Jamaica’s tourism sector is rebounding steadily following the impact of Hurricane Melissa in October 2025. In the seven weeks after the storm, the island welcomed nearly 300,000 visitors, reflecting renewed traveller confidence. Both Sangster International Airport and Norman Manley International Airport resumed operations quickly, while over 70% of hotel inventory is now open. Tourism arrivals in 2026 are projected to reach 70–80% of pre-hurricane levels as phased reopening continues.
