
IATO launches Swachh Paryatan Abhiyaan to promote responsible tourism
IATO launched its Swachh Paryatan Abhiyaan under the theme “Respect Heritage – Don’t Litter – Preserve Our Legacy”, bringing together members, tourism professionals, students and local stakeholders to promote cleanliness at monuments and tourist destinations. IATO President Ravi Gosain said clean, well-maintained heritage sites enhance visitor experiences and strengthen India’s tourism image. The campaign will be carried out across different cities on a pan-India basis.
Philadelphia Airport braces for record summer travel rush
Philadelphia International Airport is expecting nearly 9.4 million travellers between June and August, marking a 6.3 per cent rise over summer 2025. July is projected to be the busiest month with around 3.2 million passengers. The surge is driven by FIFA World Cup matches, America’s 250th birthday celebrations, the MLB All-Star Game and new international flights by American Airlines to Prague, Budapest and Santiago, alongside enhanced airport experiences and exhibitions.
Chhattisgarh eyes tourism boost with IHCL investment
Chhattisgarh is positioning tourism as a key growth driver, with Indian Hotels Company Limited reportedly exploring an investment of over ₹500 crore in the state’s hospitality sector. The proposed investment is expected to strengthen tourism infrastructure and create employment and self-employment opportunities for local youth. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said Chhattisgarh’s rivers, waterfalls, forests, hills and tribal culture offer strong potential to place the state on the global tourism map.

Lords Hotels & Resorts has launched Lords Inn Katra in Jammu & Kashmir, strengthening its presence in India’s spiritual tourism segment.
