#First Opinion
“This budget, we expect the finance minister to consider our long pending request to give industry status to the hospitality sector irrespective of project costing and the city population. This will facilitate access to long-term loans at lower interest rates, enabling the construction of the infrastructure required to accommodate the growing demand. We also look forward to the implementation of the uniform GST rate for the hospitality industry, which would streamline the GST process and stimulate corporate demand across states. We hope the finance minister will take steps to facilitate the sector’s growth and will increase budget allocations for tourism promotion, improve digital infrastructure, and support sustainability initiatives to attract more domestic and international tourists to the country.”
