Jammu & Kashmir Tourism reaches-out to Kolkata’s travel trade
In an effort to boost tourism through a nationwide promotional campaign, The Department of Tourism, J&K recently participated in the India International Travel Mart (IITM) Kolkata. On the sidelines of IITM Kolkata, a team from J&K Tourism, led by Owais Mushtaq, Additional Secretary Tourism, J&K engaged extensively with the media people of Kolkata and held meetings with leading travel trade operators from the eastern region.
AlUla strengthens position as premier eco-tourism destination
AlUla is marking International Arabian Leopard Day 2025 with a landmark announcement: the establishment of the first wildlife breeding centre in the Sharaan National Park, reinforcing AlUla’s commitment to conservation and comprehensive regeneration. Currently, all 30 Arabian leopards under human care in Saudi Arabia are housed at the Royal Commission for AlUla’s Arabian Leopard Conservation Breeding Centre in Taif.
Air India adds new flights to London, Zurich and Nairobi
Air India has announced an expansion of flight frequencies on key international routes as part of its Northern Summer schedule, effective March 30, 2025. The airline will add three more weekly flights on the Delhi-London Heathrow route. Amritsar-Birmingham and Amritsar-London Gatwick flights will now operate four times a week, while Ahmedabad-London Gatwick will see an increase from three to five weekly flights.
PM Modi to launch historic Vande Bharat train to Kashmir on Feb 17
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the first-ever Vande Bharat Express to Kashmir on February 17, marking a significant milestone in the region’s infrastructure development. This inauguration will symbolise the completion of the much-anticipated Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project and will be flagged off from the Katra railway station in the Jammu division.
