Air India Express to start Amritsar to Bangkok and Bengaluru flights
Air India Express (IX) will inaugurate direct flights from Amritsar’s Sri Guru Ram Dass Jee International Airport (ATQ) to Bengaluru (BLR) and Bangkok (BKK) on December 27, 2024. The airline will operate Boeing 737 MAX 8 (737-8) aircraft on both routes four times weekly – Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. The expansion strengthens Punjab’s air connectivity network.
Indore Airport takes a giant leap towards Zero Waste
IndiGoReach, IndiGo’s CSR initiative, has partnered with the Airports Authority of India and AAS Foundation, Indore, to launch the Zero Waste Airport Project. Using the 4R strategy (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover), the project aims to minimize the environmental impact of airport operations and set a new standard for sustainable waste management in aviation.
Over 1,300 attendees meet in Moscow for BRICS edition
Moscow recently hosted the second edition of Meet Global MICE Congress: BRICS Edition, which brought together over 1,300 representatives of the business tourism industry from BRICS countries — including Russia, Brazil, India, and China — as well as nations from the Global South. India Ranks 39th in Travel and Tourism Development Index (TTDI) 2024
The 2024 Travel and Tourism Development Index (TTDI) by the World Economic Forum (WEF) ranked India 39th out of 119 countries, which marks a notable rise from its previous rank of 54th in 2021. The Ministry of Tourism plays an important role in enhancing tourism infrastructure, which provides financial assistance to state governments, union territories, and central agencies.
