
Sri Lanka Tourism to promote Destination Weddings in India
The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau will host a three-city India roadshow in Hyderabad, Surat and Pune on September 26, 28 and 30, respectively, to promote Sri Lanka as a destination wedding hub. The initiative will connect tourism officials with wedding planners and industry professionals, showcasing beachfront celebrations, cultural experiences and bespoke festivities. Press conferences in each city will further highlight Sri Lanka’s wedding venues, hospitality and market strategy.
WestJet appoints AVIAREPS as Cargo GSA in India
AVIAREPS has been appointed General Sales Agent for WestJet Cargo in India, with nationwide responsibility for cargo sales, customer engagement and market development. The partnership will leverage AVIAREPS’ pan-India presence and local aviation expertise to strengthen WestJet Cargo’s relationships with freight forwarders and cargo agents. Airline Services International will also coordinate with Rainbow Aviation for selected regional markets including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana and Goa.
AirAsia launches special fares to ASEAN island escapes
AirAsia has launched special fares to popular ASEAN beach destinations including Phu Quoc, Phuket, Krabi and Kota Kinabalu, with one-way fares starting from ₹11,999. Travellers from Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Kolkata, Thiruvananthapuram and other cities can connect via Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok. Bookings are open until September 30, 2026, for travel between October 1, 2026 and June 30, 2027, with added flexibility benefits.
Cygnett Hotels & Resorts signs second property in Jim Corbett
Cygnett Hotels & Resorts has signed Cozzet Retreat Jim Corbett, marking its second property in the destination. Located just 50 metres from Mohan Gate of Jim Corbett National Park, the hotel will feature 51 cottage-style rooms, an all-day dining restaurant and a 3,000 sq. ft. banquet venue. Overlooking a natural river stream, the property will cater to leisure travellers, celebrations, corporate events and wildlife enthusiasts.
