Delhi to launch four econ-friendly tourism circuits
The Delhi government will launch four econ-friendly tourism circuits on August 11 at Akshardham Temple, showcasing the capital’s spiritual, cultural and heritage attractions beyond its iconic monuments. The curated routes will connect temples, gurudwaras, churches and historic sites, including Bangla Sahib, Agrasen ki Baoli, Lotus Temple, Jantar Mantar, Purana Qila, Nizamuddin Dargah and Mehrauli Archaeological Park. The initiative aims to encourage sustainable sightseeing and longer visitor stays.
Maharashtra to fast-track MICE project in Buldhana
The Maharashtra government will accelerate the proposed MICE project at Hatani and Valti in Buldhana district’s Chikhli taluka, alongside development of ‘Jijau Srushti’ at Sindkhed Raja. Tourism Minister Shambhuraj Desai directed officials to transfer required land to MTDC and prepare the master plan, architectural design, DPR and cost estimates. The projects are expected to strengthen tourism in Vidarbha while showcasing the historical and cultural legacy of Rajmata Jijau.
MPTB partners with Tata STRIVE to strengthen rural tourism
Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board has signed a two-year MoU with Tata STRIVE to strengthen rural tourism, professionalise homestays and create employment opportunities across the state. In the first phase, nearly 1,000 rural tourism stakeholders will receive certification and training in homestay management, digital bookings, housekeeping, local cuisine, guiding, safety and sustainable tourism. The partnership also aims to build skilled manpower for MPSTDC properties and private hospitality establishments.
IRCTC launches Sapta Jyotirlinga Darshan Yatra
IRCTC has launched the 10-night, 11-day Sapta Jyotirlinga Darshan Yatra aboard the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train, departing Delhi Safdarjung on September 25 and returning October 5. The pilgrimage covers seven Jyotirlingas across Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Maharashtra, including Mahakaleshwar, Omkareshwar, Nageshwar, Somnath, Bhimashankar, Grishneshwar and Trimbakeshwar. The 150-seat tour offers three travel categories, with twin-sharing packages starting from INR 90,930 per person.
