
In his new role, Dar will lead Ascott’s growth strategy and business operations across South Asia, with a focus on expanding the company’s footprint, enhancing performance standards and strengthening relationships with partners and stakeholders.
A hospitality veteran with more than 30 years of industry experience, Dar joins Ascott with a strong track record of driving commercial performance and operational excellence across leading global hospitality brands.
Before joining Ascott, Dar served as Senior Regional Director of Operations at Hilton India, where he oversaw a multi-brand portfolio across major markets in South India. During his tenure, he played a key role in driving business growth, improving operational performance and strengthening owner relationships.
Earlier, he held several leadership positions with Marriott International, including General Manager roles at The Westin Hyderabad Mindspace and Jaipur Marriott Hotel. He began his hospitality career with The Oberoi Group, where he spent 18 years in a variety of hotel and corporate roles, gaining extensive experience in service excellence, talent development and business leadership.
Speaking on his appointment, Rohit Dar said that he was delighted to join The Ascott Limited at a time when South Asia is witnessing strong growth in the hospitality sector.
“The region presents immense opportunities driven by rapid urbanisation and rising demand for quality accommodation. I look forward to working closely with our teams and partners to strengthen our presence, accelerate our strategic priorities and create greater value for our stakeholders,” he said.
Ascott has been expanding steadily across South Asia through its portfolio of hospitality brands, including Ascott, Somerset, Citadines, Oakwood and lyf. In India, the company currently operates seven properties across six cities with 985 keys, while more than 5,000 keys are under development.
The company is also increasing its presence not only in major gateway cities but also in emerging Tier 2 and Tier 3 destinations, reflecting the changing travel and hospitality landscape in the region.
With Dar at the helm of its South Asia business, Ascott is expected to further accelerate its expansion plans, strengthen its brand presence and tap into the growing demand for high-quality accommodation across the region
