A Common Platform for Every Woman in Tourism.
LTWC began its journey with its first chapter in Varanasi, and Kolkata proudly becomes its second chapter. This marks an important step towards expanding the initiative across Eastern India.
The primary objective of LTWC is to bring together women associated with every segment of the tourism and hospitality industry under one common platform.
Traditionally, representation and membership opportunities in various tourism associations have largely been limited to company owners and business heads. However, many talented and experienced women working in different positions within these organisations have often lacked opportunities to become part of such professional platforms and networks.
LTWC aims to bridge this gap.
The platform welcomes women from all sectors of the industry, including tour operators, travel agents, hoteliers, homestay owners, tourist guides, airline professionals, senior executives of leading tourism companies and other women professionals associated with tourism and hospitality.
Its primary vision is to encourage networking, exchange of knowledge and experiences, mutual cooperation, leadership development and equal professional opportunities for women.
LTWC is not intended to replace any existing tourism association. Rather, it aims to complement and strengthen the existing tourism fraternity by bringing women from different associations and professional backgrounds together under one umbrella.
The Role of the Kolkata Chapter Core Team
The successful organisation of the Kolkata Chapter’s inaugural programme was made possible through the dedicated efforts, collective initiative and coordination of its Core Team.
The members of the Core Team are:
- Puja Karar – State Head, WB Chapter
- Ranjana Basu – ACCOUNT Head, West Bengal Chapter
- Sucheta Basu – Public Relations (PR)
Their collective efforts, planning and cooperation played a significant role in making the inauguration programme a memorable success.
Vision and plans for the future
The inauguration of the Kolkata Chapter is just the beginning of LTWC’s larger journey. One of its key objectives is to expand its presence across India and build a strong network of women associated with the tourism industry in different states.
LTWC has several initiatives planned for the future, focusing on professional development, training, knowledge-sharing, experience exchange, mutual support and creating new employment opportunities for women.
We believe that through collective efforts, mutual cooperation and a shared vision, women can establish a stronger and more recognised position within the tourism industry.
The journey that began in Varanasi has now entered its second chapter in Kolkata. LTWC hopes to expand this initiative across different parts of the country and play a meaningful role in promoting recognition, equal opportunities and professional empowerment for women in tourism.
