Ethiopian will deploy the Boeing B737-8 aircraft for the Nacala service, operating the flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays per the schedule below.

Nacala is a vital centre for trade and tourism, and Ethiopian Airlines’ new service will further strengthen the city’s economic, commercial, and diplomatic connectivity. Operating its young and modern fleet, complemented by world-class customer service, Ethiopian will provide an exceptional travel experience to and from Nacala for both business and leisure travellers.

Ethiopian Airlines set to resume flights to Durban, South Africa
Ethiopian Airlines has also announced to its valued customers that, effective December 11, 2026, it will resume daily passenger services to Durban, South Africa. As its third destination in South Africa, following Johannesburg and Cape Town, the service will complement Ethiopian Airlines’ existing operations in the country, further strengthening connectivity and providing travelers with greater choice and convenience. The route will also facilitate increased business, tourism, and trade links between South Africa and the rest of the world.
The resumption of the flight underscores Ethiopian Airlines’ commitment to strengthening intra-African connectivity and advancing its longstanding vision of realising an integrated continent.

Ethiopian Airlines has maintained a strong presence in the South African market for more than three decades, having commenced operations to Johannesburg in 1993, followed by Cape Town in 2015. Over the years, Ethiopian has progressively expanded its services and market presence in response to growing demand for passenger and cargo air transportation.
