As India moves towards the next phase of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) implementation, global aviation, energy, technology and investment leaders are set to converge in New Delhi for the 2nd India SAF Conclave 2026, on September 28–29, 2026 at Bharat Mandapam.
Organised by the SAF Association (SAFA), the Conclave is expected to bring together 1,000+ delegates, 100+ global speakers and stakeholders from 25+ countries, making it a flagship platform connecting India’s emerging SAF ecosystem with global and South Asian markets.
India’s SAF Opportunity
As per global studies, India could produce around 40 million tonnes of SAF annually by 2050—about 10% of global SAF production potential. With SAF delivering up to 80% lifecycle CO₂ savings, a 50% blend could enable around 40% lifecycle CO₂ reduction from aviation fuel use, helping decarbonise a sector responsible for ~2.5% of global CO₂ emissions. SAF could also drive rural prosperity, adding an estimated US$160–300 (₹15,000–₹29,000) per hectare to farmer incomes and, under an accelerated pathway, enable 5.5 million tonnes of surplus SAF exports annually by 2050, generating an estimated US$13.5 billion in annual export revenue.
The Conclave is supported by key Government of India institutions and strategic stakeholders, including MoEFCC, MNRE, Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, IndianOil and leading international SAF ecosystem partners.
Global SAF Capacity Building
A major highlight will be a large-scale international SAF capacity-building and technical programme, bringing together global experts in standards, certification, sustainability, technology and project development.
The programme will address certification, technology pathways, feedstocks, project financing, supply chains and commercial-scale deployment, strengthening India’s technical capabilities and helping accelerate the transition from policy ambition to projects and production.
Global Industry to Converge in New Delhi
Leading Indian and international airlines, airports, energy companies, technology developers, investors and financial institutions are expected to participate, creating opportunities for investment, technology partnerships, project matchmaking and global market access.
The two-day programme will feature ministerial sessions, technical conferences, capacity-building workshops, investor and buyer forums, leadership roundtables, B2B and B2G meetings, technology showcases, exhibitions, MoU signings.
Rohit Kumar, Secretary General, SAF Association and CMAI, said:
“India has the opportunity to become a global SAF hub, but this will require an ecosystem—not just a mandate. At SAF Association, our focus is to bring government, industry, technology, finance and global partners together to turn India’s SAF ambition into projects, investment and production. The India SAF Conclave is a key platform in that journey.”
