The Indian Weddings Industry Association (IWIA) officially marked its launch with a press interaction at Le Méridien, New Delhi, bringing together key industry leaders and stakeholders. Positioned as a unified voice for the wedding sector, IWIA plans to function as a B2B and B2C platform for the industry. Chief Guest Arun Srivastava highlighted the sector’s evolution, while IWIA President Raghubir Singh said the association aims to bridge the government and the wedding industry.
Cinnamon Hotels introduces UPI Payments for Indian travellers
Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts has rolled out UPI payments across its portfolio in Sri Lanka and the Maldives, enabling Indian guests to pay seamlessly using their existing UPI apps. The move removes the need for currency exchange or international cards and aligns with India’s digital-first travel behaviour. With India as Sri Lanka’s largest inbound market, the initiative strengthens Cinnamon’s focus on leisure, weddings and MICE travel from India.
Israel Ministry of Tourism wins Innovation Award at OTM 2026
Israel Ministry of Tourism (IMOT) concluded a successful participation at OTM 2026 in Mumbai, earning the Innovation in Destination Promotion Award at the closing ceremony. The Israeli pavilion witnessed over 600 B2B meetings across leisure, MICE, FIT and family travel segments. In 2025, Israel welcomed 13,800 Indian visitors, placing India among its top 10 global source markets, with IMOT projecting a strong rebound to nearly 50,000 Indian arrivals in 2026.
Holiday Tribe partners with Tourism Abu Dhabi to launch a people-led campaign
Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi has partnered with Holiday Tribe to launch a first-of-its-kind, employee-led destination campaign. Titled ‘Abu Dhabi Ft. the Tribe’, the initiative places real experiences at the heart of travel storytelling. Ten Holiday Tribe employees travelled to Abu Dhabi, creating authentic content that reflects the destination through the eyes of those who later design and curate journeys for travellers.
