The Indo International Tourism Chamber of Commerce (IITCC), India’s first tourism chamber of commerce, was formally launched in Kolkata on 3 December 2025. Founded with the mission to bring structure, representation, collaboration and international standards to India’s tourism industry, IITCC aims to create new opportunities and sustainable growth for stakeholders across the tourism value chain, including travel companies, hoteliers, destination managers, event planners, tour operators and allied sectors.
Speaking at the launch, Abbhishek Chaudhuri, Founder & President – IITCC, said, “India is one of the world’s most powerful tourism destinations, yet we have long lacked a unified representative body dedicated solely to the interests of this sector. IITCC is that missing platform-one that will empower tourism professionals, strengthen policy advocacy, and position India as a global tourism powerhouse.”
ITTCC Goals
- Strengthen India as a global tourism powerhouse
- Represent the interests of the industry at national and international levels
- Build bridges between businesses, governments, and global tourism boards
- Create skill development and certification programs
- Support MSMEs, startups, and future tourism entrepreneurs
- Promote sustainable and responsible tourism
- Drive trade opportunities and tourism investments
Abbhishek Chaudhuri further added, in a development-focused statement, “Tourism is not just an economic driver; it is a catalyst for infrastructure, employment, culture preservation and regional development. Through IITCC, we aim to build an ecosystem that enables sustainable tourism growth, strengthens international partnerships, and uplifts local communities across India.”

The primary purpose of IITCC is to create a powerful, structured and credible platform for India’s tourism industry by enabling cross-sector collaboration, global partnerships and sustainable development. With its headquarters in India and an international outlook, the chamber will work towards enhancing professional standards, driving responsible tourism practices, hosting industry forums, facilitating global networking, and providing certification programs to uplift the sector’s credibility. The launch event in Kolkata brought together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, hospitality professionals, policymakers and tourism stakeholders, signaling strong support for the chamber’s vision.
