In a recent development, Mr. Rakesh Verma, IAS (1993-Batch officer of Punjab cadre) has joined the Ministry of Tourism as Joint Secretary. He was previously working as the Secretary, Technical Education and Industrial Training. Mr. Verma takes over the mantle from Mr. Suman Billa.
Mr. Verma has been appointed for a tenure of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He is an alumnus of IIT Delhi. He has pursued B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering.
