The event opened with a press conference attended by nearly 30 leading media outlets from print, digital, and broadcast platforms, underscoring India’s growing curiosity about Pahang as a travel destination.
This was followed by a B2B networking session that saw the participation of more than 150 tour operators, travel agents, MICE operators, and airline representatives. The strong turnout highlights India’s expanding outbound market and rising demand for diverse Malaysian destinations. The Pahang delegation was led by YB Puan Leong Yu Man, Chairman, Pahang State Committee on Unity, Tourism & Culture, along with YB Arumugam A. Veerappa Pillai, Mr. Kamaruddin bin Ibrahim, and Ms. Nalini Letchumanon, joined by over 15 sellers from Pahang’s hotels, resorts, DMCs, and tourism product owners.Speaking at the event, YB Puan Leong Yu Man said:
“India is one of Malaysia’s most important markets, and today’s strong turnout shows how much Indian travellers value Pahang. Beyond well-known destinations like Genting Highlands and Cameron Highlands, we are here to introduce the lesser-travelled gems of Pahang such as Tioman Island, Cherating Beach, Fraser’s Hill, and Taman Negara. We are confident that these offerings will appeal to Indian families, honeymooners, MICE groups, and even luxury wedding planners.”
The roadshow showcased opportunities in eco-tourism, rail tourism, destination weddings, and MICE, with exclusive packages and co-marketing initiatives tailored for Indian travel partners.
The Pahang Roadshow will now move to Chennai on 26 September 2025, with similar engagements aimed at deepening the state’s presence in the Indian market.
