Artificial intelligence is being used by MakeMyTrip to revolutionise the way Indians organise and reserve their vacations. The online travel agency has introduced Myra, a voice-activated, multilingual trip planner designed to take users from suggested destinations to confirmed reservations in a single chat.
In order to reach more people throughout Bharat, the site will eventually integrate more regional languages in addition to Hindi and English. Over 10,000 users have used Myra since its beta launch, and input is being used to customise and make interactions more relevant. Users range from first-time visitors to loyal clients, according to Rajesh Magow, co-founder and CEO of MakeMyTrip, and the emphasis is on improving context-aware responses for more seamless planning.
Using its travel material, MakeMyTrip is customising global big language models in-house and integrating them with an agentic framework to provide a smooth experience. In addition to Myra, the company has launched a global platform for tours and attractions that are priced in Indian rupees and offer over two lakh activities in 1,100 locations across 130 countries. Travellers will soon be able to create itineraries, peruse material, and make reservations for flights, hotels, and tours all at once using Myra.
Disciplined P&L management allowed the organisation to sustain profitability in the face of Q1 FY26 interruptions. In what Magow described as a strictly financial restructure, it also obtained more than $2.6 billion through convertible notes and shares to repurchase a portion from Trip.com Group. MakeMyTrip is relying on technology and size to influence the direction of Indian travel, from AI-powered trip planning to international expansion and calculated financial decisions.
