Doha – A Shoppers Paradise

Qatar is well known as an outstanding leisure & travel destination, with a blend of heritage, art and culture significant to its beauty. However, what's exciting is that Qatar offers an unparalleled shopping experience, with everything from known luxury brands to upscale boutiques, family-friendly shopping malls, and traditional souqs. Here is a list of must-explore shopping options in Doha, Qatar.

Traditional shopping in the Souqs 

The Qatari souqs offer tourists a world of cultural immersion to explore Qatar in its old-world charm, alongside their shopping. Be it a traditional scent from one of the many oudh and perfume shops to an outfit crafted from the most delicate fabrics, there is plenty of beautiful merchandise on the streets and souqs of Qatar, a true local delight. The best jewellery, fragrances, and clothing are sold along marbled promenades, while traditional souqs are home to a wide variety of textiles, handicrafts, musical instruments, and perfumes that are customised for the wearer. Overall, for a cultural trip, Souq Waqif, The Gold Souq, and Souq Al Wakrah are ideal destinations.

At Souq Waqif, the mud-daubed buildings take visitors back in time, and its winding alleyways bustle with life, offering a perfect visual of busy street life. The shops lining the cobbled pathways of Souq Waqif contain a wonderful assortment of goods, ranging from antiques, handicrafts, and artifacts from around the region. Oudh, musk, and traditional perfume oils can also be found.

The Gold Souq offers jewellery of all sorts, from traditional designs and simple everyday pieces to intricate multi-tier masterpieces; the Gold Souq has visitors covered no matter the budget.

Just next to Souq Waqif is the Souq Al Deira, a traditional fabric and textile market that houses the purest silks, high-grade embroidery, and authentic cashmere pashminas. Souq Al-Deira is a joy amongst luxury fabric and fashion lovers.

Luxury Shopping

Qatar has an abundance of luxury shopping venues. Some of the world’s best brands, experiences, and services are located across the city; travellers can choose from their favourites and stroll through Doha’s top retail districts.

Galeries Lafayette Mall

Many locals place this destination as their top spot for all things fashion, beauty, and luxury. Galeries Lafayette Doha on 21 High St. anchoring Katara Cultural Village, offers a variety of retail experiences for guests, and its majestic domed buildings are nothing short of works of art. 400 top-tier brands are represented in the spectacular 14,500 sqm open shopping area, providing the greatest possible shopping experience.

Al Hazm Mall
