Amritsar has also gained popularity, with over 10,000 solo women travelers visiting the city.
Despite the increasing interest in spiritual destinations, Goa continues to lead as the top leisure destination for solo female travelers. More than 20,000 women traveled to Goa alone, making it one of the most sought-after beach getaways. A significant number of these travelers originated from cities such as Pune, Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Bangalore, highlighting cross-regional demand for coastal experiences.
Interestingly, solo female travelers are highly organized in their trip planning. Most women book their journeys 2-5 days in advance, indicating a thoughtful approach to travel rather than last-minute decisions. Weekend travelers are even more meticulous, often securing their seats 4-5 days before departure.
The rise in solo women travelers is a trend that continues to gain momentum. From 2022 to 2024, there has been a steady 3% year-on-year increase in solo female passengers opting for bus travel. This consistent growth highlights the increasing acceptance of solo journeys among women, driven by improved safety measures, better connectivity, and the growing aspiration for independent exploration.
