The 15th edition of The Great Indian Travel Bazaar (GITB) is focused on high-value, experience-led tourism, the 2026 edition aims to drive immersive travel while catalysing investment, employment, and innovation.
Setting the strategic direction for the state, Ms. Diya Kumari, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan, emphasised, “GITB showcases Rajasthan’s leadership in tourism while fostering global partnerships. Tourism is a key growth engine, driving employment, investment, and inclusive development. Through focused initiatives—from heritage restoration and stepwell conservation to new circuits like Shekhawati and improved infrastructure—we are positioning Rajasthan as a year-round, experience-driven destination.”
“We reaffirm our commitment to make Rajasthan a world-class tourism destination—driving investment, employment, and innovation—and invite global partners to be part of this journey”, she added.
Reinforcing the policy framework, Mr. V. Srinivas, Chief Secretary, Government of Rajasthan, highlighted that tourism is central to the vision of a ‘Viksit Rajasthan’, with Tourism Policy 2025 enabling investment, ease of doing business, and expansion across emerging segments such as homestays, film tourism, and eco-tourism—strengthening India’s broader tourism ecosystem.
“Aligned with the national vision, Mr. Suman Billa, Additional Secretary and Director General, Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, noted that India aims to double tourism’s GDP contribution from 5% to 10% in the next 10 years, supported by strong infrastructure growth, expanding aviation networks, and rising demand. He added that the Hon’ble Prime Minister has clearly laid out this ambition, stating that tourism’s contribution to GDP must double from 5.22% to 10%.
Highlighting the platform’s evolution, Ms. Shuchi Tyagi, Secretary—Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, said GITB has moved beyond a conventional trade event to become a strategic marketplace that directly links Rajasthan’s tourism offerings with international buyers, supported by infrastructure readiness, investment facilitation, and a strong focus on experience-driven tourism.
Underscoring the importance of industry collaboration, Dr. Jyotsna Suri, Past President, FICCI; Mentor, FICCI Tourism Committee and CMD, The LaLiT Suri Hospitality, noted that GITB reflects the strength of sustained public-private partnership and continues to elevate India’s presence on the global tourism map through meaningful engagement.
Mr. Anant Swarup, Secretary General, FICCI, added that the scale and diversity of participation at GITB 2026 signal growing global confidence in India’s tourism potential and will translate into long-term business opportunities and stronger international linkages.
GITB 2026 will host 10,000+ pre-scheduled B2B meetings between Indian sellers and foreign buyers. The event showcases India’s diverse offerings—from heritage and culture to wellness, wildlife, rural, and experiential tourism—aligned with evolving global travel preferences.
