Though Mr. Mehra has been associated with IATO for the last three decades and have always played an instrumental role in planning conventions, this is different and extra special as he is hosting the first ever convention as President and the existing circumstances are not easy.
“The theme for the Convention this year is ‘Brand India: Road to Recovery’, which is something we all badly need in the light of Covid aftermath. We have tried to lay extra focus on the Business Sessions in this Convention and even the Speaker line-up consists of industry professionals who have never before participated in the IATO Convention. There is also a little change in the format. We are expecting participation of 600-700 delegates and I am glad to share that the venue (The Leela Gandhinagar, Gujarat) is big enough so that all Covid protocols are widely followed,” shared Mr. Mehra. He has also urged members from the industry to join in large numbers and be part of some intriguing Business Sessions that will help pave way for a better future for the travel trade.
Starting with the Inauguration on December 16, the convention will kick-start with the IATO Run on the morning of December 17 followed by Sessions spanned over 2 days covering a wide spectrum of topics. Some of them include – Brand India, Hotels in New Normal, Connectivity – the new frontier, New policy under new regime, Automation and Digital Marketing, Dekho Apna Desh, Preparedness under New Normal and many more.
