The event, which was a huge success last year, was hosted at an even larger scale this year as it started with Mumbai and went on to include Bengaluru Chennai in its journey before concluding in New Delhi. With a turnout of over 1400 people at the New Delhi event alone, the TBO Preferred Hotels Roadshow had participation from over 45 hotels and offered as a one-stop networking shop of the agents’ community.
“I think a roadshow such as this is a great opportunity for the trade partners to meet the large bouquet of hoteliers across the world. We are showcasing more than 50 hotels from across the world under one roof and offering a platform to the travel agents to interact with them. I am expecting about 1,400 buyers to the event,” shared Ankush Nijhawan, Co-founder, TBO Group, adding, “Our aim is that every few months, we keep adding more products to our kitty. Maybe we will look at some acquisitions too, which can help in growing TBO’s network. We will announce some big acquisitions at the end of this year or maybe in the coming years.”
Meanwhile, at the event, Anahita Avari, Vice President, TBO DMC, sharing her thoughts said, “We have TBO DMCs in 20 destinations across the world – Canada, USA, Morocco, Turkey, Russia, Africa, Jordan, Egypt, Japan, Australia and more. These DMCs work exclusively with TBO for the India market. At TBO, we aim to bring transparency and trust on the table for our clients – the travel agents, who work with us in huge numbers. Our dedicated sales team across 5 cities in India aims to not just facilitate the travel agent but also educate them on the ways and means along with new products, through which, they can increase their business.”
Sandeep Bhasin, Vice President, Islandhopper, proudly flaunts how the business at the company has grown over 5 times since it was taken over by the TBO Group in April this year. “Earlier we used to work with close to 1300 agents. The number has gone up to 2000 in just 6 months. Our aim to reach all travel agents who are working in TBO and facilitate selling “island holidays” for them. We specialise in handling all island destinations, such as Maldives, Mauritius, Seychelles, Greece and more. The reach that we bring on the table in our USP – the convenience of booking, the trust that TBO offers – all this enables us to be market leaders,” he concludes.
