About the Company
Momentum Experiences & Events has been curating designer destination weddings and milestone social events for 16 years. We have orchestrated weddings at exotic locations like Bali, Mauritius, Muscat, Dubai, Sri Lanka, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Jaipur, Delhi, Mumbai, Goa, Chennai, and various tier-2 cities. Large-scale weddings are our forte, with guest lists reaching up to 1,200 attendees for destination ceremonies and 25,000 for receptions, including VVIPs, HNIs, and political families. Our strength lies in our design and creativity. To date, we have delivered over 250 weddings, primarily for Gujarati and Marwari communities.
Existing Challenges & How Hoteliers Can Help
The wedding business hype has led to inconsistent pricing from venues and hotels, varying from client to client and planner to planner, causing mistrust among clients. Streamlining pricing practices would foster fair practices and build respect for planners and the hospitality industry. Additionally, basic utilities and drinking water should be readily available for all workforce members at venues, as this is a basic human right. Venue availability for setup has also become a significant challenge. Clients often don’t realize the implications of booking a venue without adequate setup time, leading to chaotic operations, poor finishing, and potential accidents. Hoteliers need to educate clients about these consequences to prevent such issues.
Weddings in India vs. organising Weddings Abroad
While more weddings occur within India, many are not part of the organized sector. Professionally planned weddings tend to be on a larger scale, but there is no definitive budget classification between domestic and international weddings. Both can be equally economical or lavish in their experience curation. At Momentum, we’ve hosted more extravagant four-night weddings in Rajasthan compared to two-night affairs in Thailand.
Sustainability
Sustainability depends largely on the family’s or couple’s mindset. Most of our clients at Momentum seek extravagant celebrations with elements flown in from around the world. However, we strive to outsource locally whenever possible and add a global touch professionally. Occasionally, we design based on the destination, aligning with the client’s taste and preferences. Though we don’t always have complete freedom, we aim to incorporate sustainable practices wherever feasible.
