As per reports, Choice Hotels India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the US-based Hospitality Company Choice Hotels International, is looking to open as many as 11 Hotels in India by 2020. The upcoming hotels, which are under various stages of development, will primarily be positioned in tier II and tier III cities such as, Lucknow, Dehradun, Indore, Kochi, Dalhousie, Khanvel, Lakhimpur and Rishikesh. the hotels will open under the Franchise model.
The hotel company, which is mainly present in mid-scale hospitality segment in India, will open new hotels under Comfort Inn, Quality Inn and Clarion Brands in India. Sharing his thoughts on the development, Vilas Pawar, CEO, Choice Hotels, said, “Most of our new properties will mainly be in tier II and tier III cities as they are fast growing markets. Since we follow the franchise model, we don’t invest in the property. We invest in our distribution platforms, in our systems that deliver values and in training. Going forward, we see great opportunities in India.”
