“TAFI as we have today, is not the result of one man or a a single team. It is the contribution of passion and dedication to survive against all odds, by all of Us, our representatives who have been at the helm for over 3 decades. TAFI has always been seen as a fighter and Yes ! We Are Fighters ! Vociferous, for our rights, legitimate dues, ease of doing business. We demanded for our rightful positions, if we are called so! So be it,” shares Mr. Bagaria.
Elaborating details of the association’s legal battle with the apex judiciary when the airlines were refusing to pay refund to the agents, he details, “To our humble requests and appeals the airlines or the government paid no heed. We courageously perused legal recourse ! TAFI approached the apex judiciary. We filed a case with the Hon. Supreme Court of India and got justice for entire trade. It took a lot of courage and burning of the midnight oil by the TAFI committee and the determination to fight with the Government and the airlines during this time of the pandemic. We won the battle.”
While being extremely passionate about his work at TAFI over the years, Mr. Bagaria maintains that it is the TEAM that matters and not an individual. Always a team player, he has demonstrated leadership amongst the committee, the chapters as well as within the membership. All the seniors in the current committee who retire are confident of Rajat, leading TAFI for the next term.
“We are your representatives and not leaders. We volunteer our time and energy to ensure we are not deprived or taken for granted by our principals, majorly the airlines and yes to a certain extent the hoteliers and others too! We are all one family and we fight and makeup, cause the river must flow and livelihood must flourish,” he concludes.
