MPTM 2026: Delegates experience state’s natural beauty and heritage

A range of specially curated activities was organised during Madhya Pradesh Travel Mart 2026 to familiarise delegates from India and abroad with the state’s natural beauty, rich historical heritage, biodiversity and exciting tourism opportunities.

A range of specially curated activities was organised during Madhya Pradesh Travel Mart 2026 to familiarise delegates from India and abroad with the state’s natural beauty, rich historical heritage, biodiversity and exciting tourism opportunities.These experiences offered delegates an opportunity to explore destinations up close, immerse themselves in the local surroundings and discover Madhya Pradesh as a diverse and multifaceted tourism destination. Activities such as heritage walks, shikara boat rides, bird walks, yoga and helicopter joy rides made their visit memorable.

A total of 149 distinguished delegates registered for various activities organised as part of the Travel Mart. According to the available data, delegates recorded 338 activity selections in all. The Shikara Boat Ride emerged as the most popular activity, with 120 selections, followed by the Heritage Walk with 95, Bird Walk with 70, Yoga with 38 and Helicopter Joy Ride with 15 selections.

From Historical Heritage to Immersive Nature Experiences

The Heritage Walk organised at Kamla Park in Bhopal offered delegates an opportunity to explore the city’s historical identity and cultural heritage at close quarters. Meanwhile, the Shikara Boat Ride at the MP Tourism Boat Club provided an enchanting experience of water-based tourism amid scenic natural surroundings.

The Bird Walk organised in the Van Vihar area enabled delegates to spend time amidst nature and observe the region’s birdlife in its natural habitat.

With a focus on the physical and mental well-being of participants, yoga sessions were organised at various hotels. Adding an element of excitement and adventure, the Helicopter Joy Ride, conducted from the BHEL Ground, offered participants a thrilling experience.

Together, these activities effectively showcased the diverse tourism potential of Madhya Pradesh across heritage tourism, water tourism, nature tourism, wellness tourism and adventure tourism.

Delegates Share Their Experiences

Christina Grupe, appreciating the Heritage Walk, said, “It was a truly special experience to explore the historical heritage and cultural identity of Madhya Pradesh up close. A heritage walk offers an opportunity to understand the history of a place and its living traditions. Such activities play an important role in creating an emotional connection between visitors and a destination.”

Nishith Notani, sharing his experience of the Shikara Boat Ride, said, “The potential for water tourism in Madhya Pradesh is truly captivating. Enjoying the natural beauty and peaceful surroundings during the Shikara Boat Ride was a wonderful experience. Such activities offer travellers moments of tranquillity while making their overall tourism experience more memorable.”

Dr. Bitan Kumar Dutta, reflecting on the Bird Walk, said, “The opportunity to observe nature and biodiversity up close makes any tourism experience particularly special. The Bird Walk offered an enriching opportunity to connect with the natural environment. Madhya Pradesh has immense potential to further develop nature-based and wildlife tourism.”

Balraj Kapoor, describing the Helicopter Joy Ride as an exhilarating experience, said, “The Helicopter Joy Ride added an exciting new dimension to the tourism experience in Madhya Pradesh. Experiencing a destination from a different perspective can be a major attraction for travellers. Such activities can help give adventure tourism in the state a distinctive identity.”

A range of specially curated activities was organised during Madhya Pradesh Travel Mart 2026 to familiarise delegates from India and abroad with the state’s natural beauty, rich historical heritage, biodiversity and exciting tourism opportunities.

Arthur Hecker, sharing his views on the yoga activity, said, “Activities such as yoga during travel provide an opportunity to maintain physical and mental balance. The emphasis on wellness alongside tourism at Madhya Pradesh Travel Mart is a positive initiative. It conveys that Madhya Pradesh offers visitors not only sightseeing opportunities but also experiences of tranquillity and inner peace.”

Chira Phetrom, reflecting on the overall range of activities, said, “The inclusion of such a diverse range of activities at Madhya Pradesh Travel Mart 2026 is highly commendable. The event offers an opportunity to experience history, nature, adventure and wellness together. Such initiatives play an important role in helping stakeholders understand the state’s diverse tourism potential and showcase it to a wider audience.”

Bringing Diverse Dimensions of Tourism onto a Common Platform

The activities organised during Madhya Pradesh Travel Mart 2026 demonstrated that tourism in the state extends far beyond historical monuments and prominent sightseeing destinations. The state also offers extensive opportunities for nature-based experiences, water tourism, birdwatching, yoga and adventure activities.

The enthusiastic participation of delegates and their interest in these experiences underscored the growing significance of experiential tourism, which enables visitors to engage more deeply with a destination.

Through these curated activities, the Travel Mart provided an opportunity to showcase the diverse tourism offerings of Madhya Pradesh to participating delegates. The event offered a platform to experience the state as a destination where history, culture, natural beauty, adventure and wellness come together in a distinctive and compelling blend.
