Prior to this appointment, he served as Managing Director of the Maharashtra Small Scale Industries Development Corporation (MSSIDC), where he effectively discharged his responsibilities. Vikas Pansare has successfully handled administrative responsibilities across various departments of the State Government.
Vikas Pansare will oversee the implementation of the Directorate of Tourism’s policies, the promotion and publicity of tourist destinations, and efforts to give the state a renewed identity as an outstanding tourism destination on the world map. His career experience is expected to help accelerate the state’s sustainable tourism development.
Mangesh Joshi (IAS) previously served as Director of the Directorate of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra. During his tenure, Mangesh Joshi undertook important work to strengthen the tourism sector in Maharashtra, with particular emphasis on the development of infrastructure, the publicity of tourist destinations across the state, and expanding private sector participation in the tourism sector. As a result, the state’s tourism has gained wide recognition, both nationally and globally.
The Directorate of Tourism placed on record its appreciation for Mangesh Joshi’s notable contribution during his tenure, and extended a warm welcome to Vikas Pansare. It was expressed that, under Vikas Pansare’s leadership, tourism in the state will scale new heights.
