Speaking at the event, Dr. Subhash Goyal, President, Delhi-NCR Chapter, IABC of SME, termed the gathering a major success. The event brought together a select group of top industry leaders alongside Vaibhav Vaidya, President of Canada Chapter and H.E. Jead (Ed) Jager, Counsul General of Canada.
The central point of discussion was the easing of travel restrictions for Indian travellers. Dr. Goyal revealed that the chamber urged Canadian authorities to simplify the visa process for verified, high-spending travellers.
“We emphasised that those who hold a US, UK, or Schengen visa should be granted visa-on-arrival or an e-visa,” Dr. Goyal stated.

He noted that putting these fast-tracked individuals through the standard, lengthy application process places an unnecessary burden on Canadian High Commission staff. More importantly, it causes Canada to miss out on significant business investments and high-spending tourists.
Highlighting India’s position as the world’s fastest-growing major economy, Dr. Goyal also emphasised that boosting bilateral travel is a win-win situation for both countries.
With Indian investors already pouring significant capital into Europe, the UK, and Southeast Asia, a seamless travel framework could unlock similar economic rewards for Canada while driving reciprocal tourism growth.
