
ITDC launches training for Tribal Homestay owners
ITDC, under the Ministry of Tourism and in collaboration with the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, inaugurated a Capacity Building Program for Tribal Homestay Owners at Hotel Samrat, New Delhi. The first batch includes 40 participants from Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Gujarat. The initiative aims to strengthen hospitality skills, improve visitor experiences and create sustainable livelihood opportunities. A multilingual “Tribal Homestay – Operation & Development Manual 2026” was also released.

The Sri Lanka Tourism Alliance has launched its new campaign, “Love Sri Lanka, Always,” to position the island as a year-round destination across key global markets, including India. Highlighting strong connectivity, short flight times and diverse experiences, the campaign encourages travellers to look beyond peak seasons. By focusing on festivals, wildlife, landscapes and culture through the year, it aims to drive balanced visitation and support tourism communities nationwide.
Jamaica wins big at PATWA International Travel Awards 2026
Jamaica earned six honours at the PATWA International Travel Awards 2026, including the prestigious “Destination of the Year” title at ITB Berlin. Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett was named Tourism Minister of the Year Worldwide, while S Hotel Jamaica won for hospitality innovation. The Montego Bay Convention Centre was also recognised for regional MICE leadership. The awards underline Jamaica’s growing global appeal and strength in tourism, hospitality and business events.
