Air India adds extra flights to Europe and US
Air India will operate 78 additional flights between 10–18 March 2026 to key destinations in Europe and New York (JFK) to address strong travel demand amid the ongoing situation in West Asia. The added services cover routes including London, Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam and Zurich, along with Malé and Colombo. The additional flights will add 17,660 seats across nine routes, with B787-8, B777-300ER and A320neo aircraft deployed.
Tamil Nadu showcases tourism potential at ITB Berlin 2026
Tamil Nadu Tourism participated in ITB Berlin 2026 (March 3–5) to showcase the state’s rich cultural heritage and diverse tourism offerings to global travel trade partners. With Germany emerging as an important European source market for India, the state highlighted opportunities in heritage tourism, eco-tourism, wellness and cultural experiences. The Tamil Nadu pavilion also focused on strengthening tourism partnerships and engaging the large Tamil diaspora in Germany.
Goa’s Shigmo Festival parade draws crowds in Panaji
The colourful Shigmo Festival parade lit up Panaji as Goa Tourism organised a grand cultural procession showcasing the state’s vibrant traditions. The event featured elaborate floats, mythological tableaux and energetic folk performances such as Ghode Modni, Fugdi and Goff. Tourism Minister Rohan A. Khaunte said the festival reflects Goa’s cultural identity while strengthening tourism. The celebrations attracted large crowds of locals and visitors, highlighting Goa’s rich heritage beyond its beaches.
Tehri Lake Festival boosts Uttarakhand’s adventure tourism vision
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Himalayan O₂ – Tehri Lake Festival (March 7–9), positioning Tehri as a future global hub for tourism and adventure sports. Projects worth ₹1,300 crore are underway to develop infrastructure, including a ring road and tourism village. The festival showcased activities such as kayaking, jet-skiing, parasailing and scuba diving, reinforcing Tehri Lake’s growing appeal as a premier adventure destination.
