Visit California announced that actor, comedian and proud Californian Josh Meyers will take the mic as the new host of the California Now podcast, with the latest season launching today. Known for his sharp wit, natural curiosity and unmistakable love of the Golden State, Meyers brings a fresh, entertaining voice to the award-winning travel podcast.
From swapping stories with Michelin-starred chefs to uncovering hidden gems with local guides, Meyers infuses each conversation with playful humor and thoughtful insight. His wide-ranging guest list this season will include celebrities, cultural tastemakers and travel experts, all sharing insider tips and inspiration for listeners planning their next adventure to the Golden State.
“I’ve been calling California home for 24 years and I just love it. I can’t imagine going anywhere else,” Meyers said. “There are so many towns – big and small – that I’ve been to and love, and so much more for me to explore. I’m excited this podcast is going to give me an opportunity to see more and learn along the way.”
Also new this season, all California Now episodes will be available to watch on YouTube. In addition, the season will debut three “On Location” episodes filmed across the state, immersing audiences in experiences along Route 66, at Mammoth Mountain and in FIFA World Cup host destinations.
“Josh’s charisma, humor and genuine love of California make him a natural storyteller and the perfect host to carry the podcast into its next chapter,” said Caroline Beteta, president and CEO of Visit California. “His energy and perspective will spark curiosity and inspire travelers to discover the Golden State in new and exciting ways.”
