Tourism Ministry meet in Udaipur pushes ‘One State, One Destination’ vision
The Ministry of Tourism concluded a two-day State Tourism Ministers’ Meet in Udaipur (Oct 14–15), uniting tourism leaders from all States and UTs to advance the Prime Minister’s vision of “One State: One Global Destination.” The initiative, a key part of the Union Budget 2025-26, aims to develop 50+ world-class destinations across India through private investment and performance-linked incentives, reinforcing collaborative federalism and sustainable growth in India’s tourism landscape.
Air India boosts network with 174 weekly flights this winter
Air India has announced a major expansion with 174 additional weekly flights across key domestic and short-haul international routes under its Northern Winter Schedule starting 26 October 2025. Enhancing connectivity to Southeast Asia, Delhi–Kuala Lumpur and Delhi–Denpasar (Bali) routes will now operate 10 times weekly. The airline is also strengthening its Rajasthan network with new flights on Delhi–Jaipur and Delhi–Jaisalmer, alongside increased frequencies from Delhi and Mumbai to major tourist hubs.
ITC Hotels expands in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
ITC Hotels Limited has signed agreements with DSR Hospitality Services to launch two new Welcomhotel by ITC Hotels properties in Hyderabad and Nellore. This marks a significant expansion of the brand in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana under ITC’s asset-right growth strategy. Welcomhotel Hyderabad Panjagutta will offer 117 rooms and 800 sq. m of meeting space, while Welcomhotel Nellore will feature 127 rooms and 2,600 sq. m of event facilities, strengthening the brand’s footprint across southern India.
BLS International strengthens digital business with AI and cloud investments
BLS International is ramping up its digital transformation by investing heavily in AI, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity to enhance scalability and service delivery across its Business Correspondent (BC) network. In FY25, the company’s digital arm handled over 140 million transactions with a GTV exceeding ₹87,000 crore. Focused on building a robust tech backbone, BLS aims to power 300+ citizen-centric services, anticipating 19% CAGR growth in the BC and assisted services market.
