The Claridges New Delhi, along with Chirag Mohanty Samal, Vice President – Content & Media Strategy at Travel & Hospitality Representation Services (THRS), hosted an exclusive High Tea event on Friday, September 27th, aimed at strengthening relationships with key members of the media. The event, held at The Claridges New Delhi in the elegant Lutyens Deli, provided an immersive experience that blended the best of traditional British High Tea ritual with Indian cultural elements.
An Elevated High Tea Experience
Unlike traditional high tea events, which typically offer a limited menu, this event stood out with its lavish buffet spread. Lutyens Deli is the first in the city to come up with a buffet concept for high tea where guests can savour both signature British as well as Indian tea-time classics such as buttered scones, delicate finger sandwiches and Kolkata chicken momos and dahi Bhalla. Lutyens Deli, set in the heart of the heritage property has unique design elements inspired from the Capital city. Walls are dotted with visuals of the iconic monuments of Delhi while the colour palette and architecture remains unmissably English. The fusion extended beyond food to the innovative beverage section that featured cutting chai alongside premium English tea and cocktails. What’s more, the menu offers cocktails for the price of premium tea!
Unique Aspects of the Event
This high tea event was more than just a feast for the palate. The in-house astrologer read palms of the guests telling them what future had in store—a session that led to much fun and laughter. Many journalists were seen queueing up for the personalised sessions with the astrologer. Speaking about the event, Sukirti, Director of Marketing & Communication at The Claridges New Delhi, remarked, “At The Claridges New Delhi, we are always looking to create experiences that blend tradition with innovation. This high tea is a perfect example of how we’ve reimagined a British classic by incorporating Indian flavours and unique touches, offering our guests a truly memorable afternoon. ”Chirag Mohanty Samal, said: “Through such elegant and fun high tea events, we want people to know about the unique offerings at The Claridges, an iconic property with English aesthetics and an Indian heart. ”Following the success of this event, The Claridges New Delhi and THRS plan to highlight and promote such unique aspects of the heritage property to a broader audience.
